چکیده
Due to the ageing population and an increasing number of stroke patients, we see potential future rehabilitation in telerehabilitation, which might alleviate workload physiotherapists occupational therapists. In order enable use devices aimed for home independent need be developed. This paper describes design a robotic device post-stroke wrist finger evaluates movement it can perform. Six healthy subjects were tested three experimental conditions: performing coupled fingers from flexion extension without device, with passive active device. The kinematics hand captured using Optotrak Certus motion capture systems tracking 11 infrared light-emitting diode (LED) markers. results are presented form base-line trajectories all middle (MF) joints. addition, deviations between conditions across computed metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint fingertip MF pinkie (PF) finger. Deviations trajectory measurement protocols root-mean-square deviation (RMSD) values indicate that hand, imposed by developed is comparable unconstrained subjects, especially when moving into extension, opening hand.

Robotic approaches for rehabilitation of hand function after stroke.
The goal of this review was to discuss the impairments in hand function after stroke and present previous work on robot-assisted approaches to movement neurorehabilitation. Robotic devices offer a unique training environment that may enhance outcomes beyond what is possible with conventional means. Robots apply forces to the hand, allowing completion of movements while preventing inappropriate ...
متن کاملVirtual reality-based post-stroke hand rehabilitation.
A VR-based system using a CyberGlove and a Rutgers Master II-ND haptic glove was used to rehabilitate four post-stroke patients in the chronic phase. Each patient had to perform a variety of VR exercises to reduce impairments in their finger range of motion, speed, fractionation and strength. Patients exercised for about two hours per day, five days a week for three weeks. Results showed that t...

متن کاملVirtual Reality Environment Assisting Post Stroke Hand Rehabilitation: Case Report
We describe a novel art-empowered Virtual Reality (VR) system designed for hand rehabilitation therapy following stroke. The system was developed by an interdisciplinary team of engineers, art therapists, occupational therapists, and VR artist to improve patient's motivation and engagement. We describe system design, development, and user testing for efficiency, subject's satisfaction and clini...
متن کاملContinuous passive motion device for hand rehabilitation.
Prototypes have been designed and manufactured for a lightweight portable device which continually moves all the joints of the hand passively through a range of motion. Inflatable bag modules in the palm of the hand are ganged together to create the required range of motion. A battery-operated air pump cycles compressed air to the modules. Initial clinical experience with patients who have flex...
